Meet the FounderI'm Barbara Villanueva, founder of Wise Owl Publishing Pro, and a lifelong educator turned entrepreneur with a heart for helping others grow.My journey began at just 22 years old, with a classroom full of students, a temporary teaching certificate, and no mentor in sight. I had a BA in hand but no real preparation for what was ahead. I was hired under emergency certification—no formal training program, no curriculum support—just a desk, a roll sheet, and the weight of responsibility.
I nearly quit—twice.But something kept me going: the belief that if I could survive it, I could help others thrive through it.Over the next 33 years, I served as an English teacher, an instructional coach, an assistant principal, and a district coordinator. I experienced the education system from multiple angles—its brilliance, its brokenness, and everything in between. I saw passionate teachers burn out, creative minds silenced by mandates, and hardworking professionals overwhelmed by expectations.So I decided to do something different.Wise Owl Publishing Pro was born out of a desire to fill the gaps I once faced—to create resources that are clear, supportive, and rooted in real experience. This isn’t just a brand—it’s a mission. The silence that follows when compassion and empathy are most needed.There were days I dragged myself to work, heart racing, counting the minutes until the final bell rang—only to head home and face the next round of responsibilities. As a Type A personality, I was my harshest critic, pushing through anxiety, exhaustion, and overwhelm without pause.Still, throughout the years, I was blessed to cross paths with people who saw me, supported me, and helped me grow into a stronger teacher, leader, and human being.
